West Palm Beach, FL - December 8, 2010
Florida Power & Light, in conjunction with the South Florida Manufacturers Association, has selected member company Scientific Instruments, Inc. as a recipient of the FPL Energy Conservation Leadership Award. This recognition was presented to SI, who has demonstrated leadership in industry energy efficiency and conservation through participation in FPL energy conservation programs.

SI's plant has been awarded for excellence in energy conservation through deployment of techniques to enhance operations efficiency. These techniques include controlling precious inputs such as electric power through recently installed solar panels, resulting in reduced energy consumption. SI also participates in a company-wide recycling program - a key component of modern waste reduction and the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" waste hierarchy.
