Position Summary
The Cryo R&D Technician performs cryogenic experiments, collects calibration and dip data, prepares reports, and carries out tasks under the guidance of the Technical Director, with additional guidance from the R&D Scientist. The Cryo Technician provides production support by way of test system validation, implementation, and maintenance of test fixtures and instruments for the Sensor, Aerospace and Engineering departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cryostat, dilution refrigerator; good working order, monitoring efficiency, handle any repairs.
- Perform full temperature range calibration and 3-point dip data collection.
- Analyze data and prepare reports.
- Build and repair test fixtures (dip rods etc.)
- Support R & D experiments.
- Support sensor production.
- Support He recovery system.
- Managing Liquid Helium and Liquid Nitrogen tanks.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in a similar position (desired).
- Data analyzing skills (Excel, Origin etc.)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Efficient and organized.
Preferred Qualifications
Thermodynamics and electronics are a plus.
Education Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent in science or engineering (preferred)
